Our commitment to diversity and Inclusion

At PPB Advisory we believe that diversity helps us to be more innovative and to engage with the needs of our diverse clients.  We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes different perspectives, identities and experiences.  Many studies show that diversity results in increased innovation, better performance, decision making and outcomes for clients. Research also tells us that businesses that set targets achieve better diversity and inclusion outcomes.

With that in mind PPB Advisory has committed to the following targets:

  • 30% females in total across our senior leadership roles by 1 July 2018. Our senior leadership roles are partner, director and senior manager.
  • 40% female in our three year partner pipeline by 1 July 2018.

PPB Advisory has established a diversity and inclusion committee to work with our executive leadership team to ensure that appropriate steps are taken to diversify our workforce and to create an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

In support of the firms diversity and inclusion initiatives, from June 2016 PPB Advisory will begin trialling ‘blind’ job applications by removing personal details from CVs with the aim of reducing unconscious bias during recruitment.

Research from the Australian National University has shown that people from culturally diverse backgrounds with the same qualifications and experience often have to submit many more job applications. To get as many interviews as an applicant with an Anglo-Saxon sounding name, an Indigenous person must submit 35 per cent more applications, a Chinese person must submit 68 per cent more applications, an Italian person must submit 12 per cent more applications, and a Middle Eastern person 64 per cent more applications, it found.

Women’s Connect is another major initiative for the firm. Women’s Connect is committed to enhancing the profile, confidence and networks of female staff at PPB Advisory. It provides a forum which fosters the growth, advancement and opportunities for female leaders at PPB Advisory.
