Overview
Geoff is a Director with PPB Advisory’s Statutory Recovery team and specialises in recovery for unsecured creditors. He has more than 20 years' experience working in corporate insolvency and most recently has concentrated on court appointed insolvencies.
Geoff is also a Chartered Accountant. He’s worked with the Australian Taxation Office, many finance companies and the Workers Compensation Nominal Insurer.
Specialist expertise
Geoff has specialist skills in all areas of investigations and recoveries in insolvency. Many assignments he’s worked on have led to recovery for unsecured creditors including litigation and negotiating settlements to maximise returns.
Experience/recent transactions
Geoff’s experience includes:
- claim against directors of a company unwinding a superannuation scheme declared invalid by the ATO and court resulting in the return to the ATO (as the only creditor) in excess of 50% of their claim
- claim against directors regarding insolvent trading which resulted in a settlement of the defendants paying a settlement equivalent to the total value of unsecured creditors
- recovery of preference claims against the ATO which resulted in return to employees of priority entitlements that would otherwise not have been paid
- preparation of reports for ASIC for use in continuing investigations for claims against directors and prosecutions by ASIC.
