Overview
Chris has over 16 years’ experience in a variety of roles, including thirteen years in the insolvency and reconstruction industry.
Aside from his direct insolvency experience gained with Ferrier Hodgson and PPB Advisory, Chris’ experience includes:
- principal manager with the National Australia Bank in its Credit Restructuring Unit
- working with the South Australian Government on the privatisation of the State’s electricity industry
- consulting with Deloitte Corporate Finance.
Chris has been involved in all forms of corporate insolvency, including voluntary administrations, liquidations, receiverships and independent business reviews of debt impaired entities.
Experience/recent transactions
In recent times, Chris has played a major role in the following insolvency administrations:
- voluntary administration and liquidation of the Auto Group of Companies, formerly one of Australia’s largest vehicle auction houses
- voluntary administrator of the Allco Principals Investments Group, a group of companies related to the Allco Finance Group
- receiver and manager of CRI Chatswood, the developer of the Chatswood Transport interchange, a mixed use development comprising a railway station, retail complex and development rights to 509 residential apartments
- voluntary and deed administrator of the Freightlink Group (Adelaide to Darwin Railway), the Connector Group (Lane Cove Tunnel) and the Rivercity Group (Rivercity Motorway).
In addition to these formal insolvencies, Chris has advised syndicates and individual financiers in relation to debt impaired entities across a range of industries, from major infrastructure assets to food processing.
Chris has also completed investigations into complex unregistered managed investment schemes on behalf of the Supreme Court of NSW and prepared expert witness reports for use in litigation, including those associated with the Peridon Retirement Village, The Queen Victoria Project and Sydney Airport Corporation Limited.
