Overview
Brett has significant experience advising in the areas of operations and finance. He began his career in insolvency and recovery and then spent more than five years in the Credit Recovery and Lending divisions at CBA and St George Corporate Bank.
Brett was subsequently appointed Executive Director of GE Capital’s Commercial Lending Services division. Following this, he was COO and CFO of a major Australian textiles manufacturer.
Brett’s mix of traditional accounting, banking and commercial experience provides him with the ability to investigate and identify issues from each stakeholder’s perspective. He works closely with his clients, providing guidance and support to deliver the best possible outcomes.
Specialist expertise
Brett has wide exposure to a variety of industry sectors including education, manufacturing, government, hospitality and managed investment schemes.
A particular focus is assisting on matters where government, either state or federal is a key stakeholder as he helps drive outcomes that meet the required balance between social, financial and legal deliverables.
Experience/recent transactions
Brett’s experience includes:
- lead director on various tertiary, secondary and vocational education matters including pre-lend reviews, restructuring options, acquisition due diligence and orderly wind down of operations

lead director in the Trio Capital liquidation including:
– transitioning ten managed investments schemes ($300 million funds under management) to a new
Responsible Entity
– administering the winding up of five managed investments that had exposure to problematic assets
including Australia’s largest superannuation fraud
– assisting relevant authorities with criminal charges against those involved. - reviewing a major hotel group with eight freehold hotels in Queensland and New South Wales
- ongoing management and sale of pub/hotel group with operations in Sydney and Queensland.
