Proposed Changes to Victoria’s Liquor Licensing Regulations
The Victorian Government, through the Department of Justice, is making major changes to the liquor licensing regulations. Failure to comply with the new changes may result in venue operators being fined and, in severe cases, liquor licences being revoked. Venues that breach and subsequently lose their liquor licence will by default lose their gaming licence (if applicable). Some regulations came into effect on 1 November and others are expected to be implemented shortly.
In our last Insight, we provided a summary of recent gambling reforms and how they may affect lenders. This month, we look at the often complex issue of poker machine entitlements in the valuation and trading of major assets such as hotels and clubs.
